Jaco Beach
The town of Jaco Beach, Costa Rica is the closest and most readily accessible beach to the capital city of San Jose. Often referred to as JACOPULCO it is the hottest spot on the Pacific Coast. A one and a half hour drive through the lush mountains will get you there. However by the end of 2009 a new highway shall be completed that will shorten the driving time to 45 minutes.
This popular destination with a cinnamon sand beach is visited full year round by local and international tourists, most of which are Americans. The town is active at all times of day and night. A wide variety of souvenir and gift shops, restaurants and bars, supermarkets, discotheques, casinos, local and international banks, private and public medical services, are amongst some of the amenities found in this busy town.
Activities of great popularity in the area are: Surfing, horseback riding, deep sea sport fishing, canopy & or aerial tram tours, national parks, aquatic activities, white water rafting, scuba diving, amongst many others. There is such a wide variety of activities to enjoy in this town that one time visit is almost impossible.
